RULES & REGULATIONS – LICENSED RAFFLE LOTTERY

TICKETS $5.00 EACH (VALID ONLY FOR DRAW DATE INDICATED)
LIMIT OF (10) PER PERSON (SHOULD THERE BE MORE THAN 10 TICKETS, IN ANY ONE PERSONS NAME, THEY WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM THE DRAW, AND MAY NOT BE PERMITTED TO PURCHASE TICKETS FOR FUTURE DRAWS. TICKETS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

PRIOR TO ALL DRAWS, THE FOLLOWING WILL BE ANNOUNCED.
❖ THE TOTAL NUMBER OF TICKETS SOLD, FOR THAT DRAW.
❖ THE TOTAL WEEKLY “DRAW” PRIZE AMOUNT.
❖ THE TOTAL CURRENT PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT AMOUNT.
PRIZE BOARD AS FOLLOWS: (ALL PRIZES WILL BE PAID BY CHEQUE, IN CANADIAN
FUNDS, AND ISSUED TO THE NAME INDICATED ON TICKET STUB). (IN THE CASE WHERE TWO NAMES ARE ON THE TICKET, IT WILL BE PAID TO THE FIRST PERSON INDICATED ONTHE TICKET.) (WINNERS HAVE 6 MONTHS TO CLAIM PRIZE)
❖ WEEKLY “DRAW” PRIZE = 20% OF CURRENT WEEKS TICKET SALES.
❖ PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT = 30% OF OVERALL TICKET SALES TO DATE.
AT THE START OF A NEW SERIES OF DRAWS, THE PROGRESSIVE PRIZE WILL BE
SEEDED OR GUARENTEED BY AN AMOUNT DETERMINED BY THE COMMITTEE (THERE WILL BE A BEGINNING AMOUNT IN THE PROGRESSIVE PRIZE)
DRAW PROCEDURE:
EACH WEEK (1) ONE TICKET STUB WILL BE DRAWN FROM THE TICKET DRUM, THIS
TICKET HOLDER WINS THE “DRAW” PRIZE (20% of that week’s ticket sales).
NEXT, THE PRE-SELECTED ENVELOPE # INDICATED ON THAT TICKET STUB, WILL BE OPENED ON BEHALF OF THE TICKET HOLDER, TO REVEAL CARD WITHIN.

NOTE:  IF NO ENVELOPE # IS SELECTED OR AN ENVELOPE # THAT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IS CHOSEN, THE NEXT HIGHER NUMBER WILL BE SELECTED ON BEHALF OF THE TICKET HOLDER. IF NO HIGHER NUMBER IS AVAILABLE, THE NEXT LOWER NUMBER WILL BE SELECTED.
IF THE TICKET HOLDER IS IN ATTENDANCE THEY WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE THEIR OWN NUMBER
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TICKET HOLDER, TO ENSURE THIS INFORMATION IS CORRECT ON THEIR TICKET STUB.

IF THE CHOSEN ENVELOPE HOLDS THE ACE OF SPADES, THE TICKET HOLDER OF THAT TICKET, WILL RECEIVE THE PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT IN ADDITION TO THE WEEKLY PRIZE. THIS WOULD CONCLUDE THIS LOTTERY LICENCE.
HOWEVER, IF THE ENVELOPE SELECTED DOES NOT HOLD THE ACE OF SPADES, THAT ENVELOPE IS REMOVED, WITH THE CARD DESTROYED, AND THE PROGRESSIVE JACKPOTCONTINUES TO GROW, UNTIL THE ENVELOPE HOLDING THE ACE OF SPADES IS REVEALED.

DRAW DOWN EVENT
FINAL WEEK OF DRAW, IF THE ACE OF SPADES IS STILL NOT CAUGHT, WE WILL HOLD A DRAW DOWN EVENT…THE ACE OF SPADES MUST BE REVEALED ON THIS DRAW.
THE PROCEDURE FOR THIS DRAW IS …
WE WILL PULL (1) TICKET STUB FROM THE DRUM. THIS TICKET HOLDER IS AWARDED THE WEEKLY “DRAW” PRIZE. NEXT, THE PRE-SELECTED ENVELOPE # INDICATED ON THATTICKET STUB, WILL BE OPENED ON BEHALF OF THE TICKET HOLDER, TO REVEAL CARD WITHIN.

NOTE:  IF NO ENVELOPE # IS SELECTED OR AN ENVELOPE # THAT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE IS CHOSEN, THE NEXT HIGHER NUMBER WILL BE SELECTED ON BEHALF OF THE TICKET HOLDER. IF NO HIGHER NUMBER IS AVAILABLE, THE NEXT LOWER NUMBER WILL BE SELECTED.
IF THE TICKET HOLDER IS IN ATTENDANCE THEY WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE THEIR OWN NUMBER

IF THE ENVELOPE SELECTED HOLDS THE ACE OF SPADES, THAT TICKET HOLDER WINS THE PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT, AS WELL AS THE DRAW PRIZE… THAT WILL CONCLUDE THIS DRAW LICENCE.
HOWEVER, IF THE ACE IS NOT IN THAT ENVELOPE, THE ENVELOPE IS REMOVED. (THAT TICKET STUB IS NOT ENTERED BACK INTO THE DRUM) AND ANOTHER TICKET STUB WILL BE PULLED FROM THE DRUM, THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER PRIZES AWARDED, UNTIL THE ACE OF SPADES IS REVEALED.
ONE TICKET STUB AT A TIME WILL BE DRAWN, AN ENVELOPE NUMBER OPENED, UNTIL THE ACE OF SPADES IS FOUND. THE LUCKY TICKET HOLDER WILL BE AWARDED THEPROGRESSIVE JACKPOT.

How it is played                                                 

Draw preparation:

• • A standard deck of 52 playing cards will be shuffled face-down, then placed in identical, opaque envelopes.
  • The sealed envelopes will then be shuffled and randomly numbered from one (1) to fifty- two (52).
  • The entire procedure will be video recorded and the recording retained for 6 months.
• The envelopes will be on display in a secure display case for every draw.

Draw Procedure:

• • All aspects of the draw will be video recorded to ensure a record of the stub draw, confirmation of winning stub, selection of the envelope and subsequent destruction of the card in the selected envelope. 
  • Once all the tickets have been secured in the drum, the drum will be rotated, several times.
  • One (1) winning stub will be drawn, under the supervision of a bona- fide member of the Catch the Ace committee. The bona- fide member or the person drawing the ticket will not have ticket(s) in their name, nor an interest in any ticket for this draw.
  • For each lottery license duration, the original sealed deck of 52 cards will be used. The remaining unopened envelopes will be secured, in the locked display case, with the keeper of this display case, not in possession of a key.
  • Once the winning stub is drawn. The envelope indicated on the ticket stub will be opened (in clear view of the public) to reveal the enclosed card.
  • Only the envelope number stated on the ticket shall be opened.
  • If the Ace of Spades is not chosen, the ticket holder will be awarded only the current evenings “draw” prize. The selected ticket will be destroyed and kept by the Catch the Ace committee.
  • In the event the Ace of Spades is selected on the first draw of a new license, the winner will be awarded both the current evenings draw prize amount, and the accumulated (Progressive) jackpot. The event and the license are then concluded.
    • Tickets are valid only for the draw date they were purchased for. Once the draw is complete, the non-winning tickets are removed from the drawer container, and a new series of tickets will be sold for the next draw date.
    • The ticket sequence used that week, and the winning ticket number will be entered into the draw log. Subsequently, the ticket stubs will be removed from the drum, placed into sealed containers and retained in a secure area for a minimum of 30 days. Winning tickets will be retained until 30 days, after the conclusion of the license.
  • To avoid duplicate numbered tickets. Each week, a new sequence of numbers will be used for that week. All tickets are recorded and tracked weekly. Tickets will be sold consecutively for each draw.

Additional Information 

• Ticket sales will begin Wednesday following the draw. Check website and social media for ticket sellers and locations.
• A limited number of tickets will be printed each draw. The number of unsold tickets from previous draws, may be counted towards additional tickets in subsequent draws in that series.
• Stub tickets will be used for all draws. They will be (2) part, and will include space for name, address and contact number, as well as an envelope selection box
• Purchaser is responsible for checking their ticket(s) at time of purchase, to ensure information is legible, and their envelope number selected is available 
• The ticket holder is not required to be in attendance 
• In the case of shared tickets, it is the responsibility of the ticket holder, to allocate prize as necessary 
• All winners will be notified by phone at the time of the draw. Winners will be announced on our social media page
• Winners name, prize awarded, envelope number, card enclosed, as well as the current progressive jackpot amount, will be posted at all draws
• The Catch the Ace committee has the right to refuse ticket sales to any individual 
• By purchasing a ticket, winners agree to the use of their name, and/or photo for publicity purposes by the Catch the Ace committee 
• All tickets to be purchased in cash. Under no circumstances will unpaid tickets be entered into the draw.
• All questions or concerns on procedures of draws, should be directed to the Catch the Ace committee 
• The liability of the licensee of this lottery shall be limited to the purchase price of that ticket 
• In the event of storms, power outages or other catastrophic events which cause a cancellation, the raffle will be rescheduled for the following evening at the same time and location
